eAusweise: Digital Driver's License for Austria
eAusweise is a free Android application developed by Bundesministerium für Finanzen, falling under the category of Utilities & Tools. The app provides a digital version of your driver's license that can be presented securely and easily on your smartphone in Austria, both in private and traffic situations. With just a button press, you can share your driving license data without any physical contact, and no data transfer occurs without your consent.
To use eAusweise, you need an Austrian check card driving license, an ID Austria with full function, and the "Digitales Amt" app installed on the same device. After signing in to the "Digitales Amt" app with your ID Austria, you can download and activate eAusweise and load your digital driving license onto your phone. The app is secured with fingerprint or face recognition, and you can present your QR code to your counterpart when asked for identification.
The app is continuously updated and will include new documents in the future. Please note that the digital driving license is valid only in Austria.
